About TaxiNoir

Radif Partners publishes calculators and practical guides for several countries. TaxiNoir is for people who want to earn a living driving passengers in France: future VTC (private-hire) drivers, future taxi drivers, future ambulance workers, and drivers already on the road who want to know what is really left at the end of the month.

Why this site exists

Search for how to become a driver in France and most of what comes up is written by training centres, company-formation services or insurers. Their pages are not wrong by default, but each has something to sell, and the rules change faster than those pages are updated: the end of access to VTC work through experience, on 12 August 2026, is the latest example. We wanted a clear path, tied to the official texts, with calculators that put numbers on each person’s situation.

How we work

Every regulatory value (exam fee, register fee, contribution rate, VAT threshold, vehicle criterion, pay scale) is read at its official source and written once, in a dated parameter file. Every page reads it from there, and automated tests check the engine before each release. Details are on the method and sources page.

What we are not

Radif Partners is not a government body, a ride-hailing platform, a taxi dispatcher, a training centre or an accountancy firm. We sell no contacts, take no commission and promote no course, insurer or rental company. Earnings shown are estimates built from your own assumptions, never promises.

Funding

The site is free. If it ever carries advertising, no ad will sit above a calculator. No data is sold: calculations run in your browser.

A French version

Every page also exists in French, the language of the exam, the online forms and the prefecture. The English pages explain French terms and keep amounts in euros.
